End of 1st Trimester

It's official! I've made it through the first 13 weeks!  When I think about it, it's still hard to believe I'm pregnant because I haven't experienced the usual prego sickness you hear about.  I have been really lucky.  I hope that I'm not a rare one where I will get sick later.  I had my first craving.  Thursday while at work, I decided I wanted pancakes. It sounded so good so after work, I called Robert to see if we could go to IHOP for dinner. I don't think he believed me that I wanted pancakes. So, he got home he decided to make them. They were delicious and everything I was looking forward to. LOL He fixed that crave because I haven't wanted them again.
Yesterday was doctor appointment day. Mom joined with me today since Robert had to go into work.  He wanted to go but it didn't work out.  We were hoping to hear a heartbeat.  I was excited to hear the bump bump bump. Ultrasound tests are never comfortable.  I've had them for my gallstones and that device hurts. So, the nurse is doing the scan and you hear a lot of  swooshing and weird noises. In about 10 minutes, it seemed like anyway, there it was! BumpBumpBumpBumpBump 160 beats per minute. The nurse is super nice and offered to video the heartbeat so we could get the sound so Robert could hear-and whoever else. Here is our mini cooper!

Even though we got to hear lil baby, I was a little disappointed that we didn't get to see it on the screen.  Didn't get a picture print out this time. :-(  Next appointment is Dec.9th. Doc wants to see us one more time before the reveal day on the 29th. At this appointment, I found out that I've met my requirements and insurance is covering 100% now. Hallelujah! I hope the front desk lady is right. I'm gonna check on it to make sure. :-)  I'm really liking Dr. Lloyd and his staff. They are super nice and very helpful. Dr. Lloyd is a character. I am so ready to find out what we are having! Too bad we couldn't find out before Christmas.
After the doc appointment, Mom and I met up with our friend Laurie in Katy and did some Christmas shopping. Laurie took us to a Mongolian restaurant, Genghis Grill, where you choose your raw foods at a bar and take it to a chef and they cook it for you.  It was delicious. I had chicken, shrimp, crab with fried rice, veggies along with honey teriyaki sauce. Pretty good. I wish Baytown had one. I was pretty exhausted when I got home.
This week, I am looking forward to Thanksgiving with my family and then off to Alabama to see my Mama, Papa, Uncle Gary, Aunt Beth, Logan, and many others I'm sure. Just Mom and I are making this trip this time and we are celebrating Christmas with our family while we are there. So, I'm trying to shop and have that done before we leave.
Until next time.
