Losing Brain Power and Gaining waist size... Thanks Mini Cooper :)

Saturday was a lazy day. I really needed it, though. I needed to catch up on homework as well. I can't believe the first semester of my UofH classes are almost over. Less than a month! Robert grilled as we watched the UofH game.  My memory and brain power have gone crazy.  I tell Robert its because of the baby.  But, I was trying to get crushed ice out of the refridgerator and this is what happened...
Yes, bread in the ice maker! When I have extra bread, I freeze it. Apparently, this loaf made its way to the ice area and I murderlated it! The bread wrapping was all wrapped up around the grinder and bread pieces were everywhere. It was a mess.  May I add this happened after Robert went for the sour cream container from the fridge and noticed it was supposed to have gone in the garbage the last time we used it.  You could tell it was garbage because a paper towel was stuffed in it.  What in the world? I told Robert maybe he had done that. haha Perhaps this mini Cooper is sucking up all my brain power along with energy. Robert did some grocery shopping early that day and thought I would love these..
                                         I do! He's so thoughtful.
Saturday evening Rae came over to hang out and we decided to drag out my Christmas decor and get it started. We didn't get very far. Didn't think Robert would be so against putting the tree up before Thanksgiving. I understand where he was coming from, but I'm leaving next weekend to go to Bama and with Thanksgiving and all its going to be crazy. I just wanted to get it over with. When I return from my trip, it's going to be Dec.6 and Christmas will be here before we know it. Hopefully, the tree will go up this weekend!
Presley claimed the Christmas pillow.
This dog loves pillows/blankets.  He is laying on 3 pillows right now as I write this.

I work Sundays now and I was getting ready and couldn't button my ranger pants. Holy cow! Already? You can't really tell that I'm pregnant yet, but the pants wouldn't button. Luckily, I ordered some pants a few weeks ago to be prepared. These are a whole lot more comfy than the ones they issue us anyway. LOL The baby is growing for real now! :-)
 3 more work days!

End of 1st Trimester

It's official! I've made it through the first 13 weeks!  When I think about it, it's still hard to believe I'm pregnant because I haven't experienced the usual prego sickness you hear about.  I have been really lucky.  I hope that I'm not a rare one where I will get sick later.  I had my first craving.  Thursday while at work, I decided I wanted pancakes. It sounded so good so after work, I called Robert to see if we could go to IHOP for dinner. I don't think he believed me that I wanted pancakes. So, he got home he decided to make them. They were delicious and everything I was looking forward to. LOL He fixed that crave because I haven't wanted them again.
Yesterday was doctor appointment day. Mom joined with me today since Robert had to go into work.  He wanted to go but it didn't work out.  We were hoping to hear a heartbeat.  I was excited to hear the bump bump bump. Ultrasound tests are never comfortable.  I've had them for my gallstones and that device hurts. So, the nurse is doing the scan and you hear a lot of  swooshing and weird noises. In about 10 minutes, it seemed like anyway, there it was! BumpBumpBumpBumpBump 160 beats per minute. The nurse is super nice and offered to video the heartbeat so we could get the sound so Robert could hear-and whoever else. Here is our mini cooper!

Even though we got to hear lil baby, I was a little disappointed that we didn't get to see it on the screen.  Didn't get a picture print out this time. :-(  Next appointment is Dec.9th. Doc wants to see us one more time before the reveal day on the 29th. At this appointment, I found out that I've met my requirements and insurance is covering 100% now. Hallelujah! I hope the front desk lady is right. I'm gonna check on it to make sure. :-)  I'm really liking Dr. Lloyd and his staff. They are super nice and very helpful. Dr. Lloyd is a character. I am so ready to find out what we are having! Too bad we couldn't find out before Christmas.
After the doc appointment, Mom and I met up with our friend Laurie in Katy and did some Christmas shopping. Laurie took us to a Mongolian restaurant, Genghis Grill, where you choose your raw foods at a bar and take it to a chef and they cook it for you.  It was delicious. I had chicken, shrimp, crab with fried rice, veggies along with honey teriyaki sauce. Pretty good. I wish Baytown had one. I was pretty exhausted when I got home.
This week, I am looking forward to Thanksgiving with my family and then off to Alabama to see my Mama, Papa, Uncle Gary, Aunt Beth, Logan, and many others I'm sure. Just Mom and I are making this trip this time and we are celebrating Christmas with our family while we are there. So, I'm trying to shop and have that done before we leave.
Until next time.

The Secret Is Out!

I don't know where to begin! What a crazy 3 months this has been for us. In September, we found out that we are going to have a mini Cooper!! I've never been good at this blogging thing, but I hope that I can keep it updated with baby updates. People say you should keep a journal of your pregnancy (that's what I've read anyway) and I figured that an online blog would work best for me.
So, I believe I am 12 weeks pregnant and I really don't feel pregnant. Ha ha. God really took care of me and didn't let me have the morning sickness that I have heard/read about.  I did have a couple of days where I felt nauseous, but no hugging the throne. PriaseTheLord! The first 12 weeks I was super exhausted. Before I found out I was pregnant, I thought I had mono again. All I wanted to do was sleep!  I didn't really have an appetite, that's coming back now.  I think I eat every 2 hours or so. Not big meals every 2 hours but something. Last month, I had to go to the E.R. at 4am because I was having a gallbladder attack.  I knew I had gallstones in July but the doctor didn't think surgery was necessary, so I didn't go with it.  I didn't have another attack til this time. This attack lasted 12 hrs! It was horrible. On top of the pain, I was a zombie! The E.R. gave me vicodin for the pain and a shot in the hip for something else. I don't remember what that was for. I do remember I kept reassuring that the meds were safe for the baby and they said they were. I really don't remember much of the E.R. visit. I had Robert and Mom to take care of me. :-) So, now I'm on a no-fat/low-fat diet.  The diet won't hurt the baby...it will be good for it. But, this has got to be the worst time to have to diet like this. All I want is some french fries! I'm way to scared to eat them. I pretty much eat baked chicken/baked potatoes. Something fried would be totally awesome, though!
This Friday at 9am I get to see mini Cooper on the screen. This week we are hoping to hear the heartbeat. I've already seen the precious lil thing swim around in circles and kick. Doctor says it's a happy baby. :-) It's so amazing that life is being created in you. I really never thought about it and read about it and I have been learning a lot. It's just so crazy and exciting.
1st trimester is almost done! Whoohoo!
